Coming back isn't starting from scratch
Rediscovering faith isn't erasing your story or pretending the years that passed didn't exist. It's resuming a journey from where you are today, with your questions, your doubts and what you've learned along the way. God isn't waiting for a perfect version of you; He's waiting for you.
You don't need to be ready to come back. You come as you are — and we walk on from there.
No pressure, no judgment
We know some people arrive with wounds from previous experiences, inside or outside the church. We take that seriously. We won't rush you, correct you or treat you like a project. You'll be treated as a person, with the dignity and time you deserve.
If you only want to watch for weeks, that's fine. If you want to talk in depth, there's room for that too. No one will push you; we simply leave the door open.
A place to ask again
Returning to faith often brings honest questions — about suffering, about doubts, about what has changed in you and around you. We prefer real questions to rehearsed answers. Around the Bible, prayer and the table, there's space to think out loud and rediscover meaning.
Surf Church Porto is a PT/EN community in Matosinhos. Surfing is part of our story, but the center is Jesus. There's room here for locals, internationals and those who are turning back toward home.
How to come back calmly
You don't need to announce anything or commit to anything at all. You can talk to us on WhatsApp, say you're thinking of coming back and ask for help with the time and directions. You come when and if you want.

Will I be judged for having been away?
No. We take seriously those who arrive with doubts or wounds. No pressure and no judgment.
Do I have to commit to anything?
No. You can just watch and stay as long as you want. You come when and if you want.
